Meet my new sewing machine!

She ( or possibly he?) is new to me 🙂 He/she is a Husqvarna machine, and I’ve never had one of those before….so it has taken me quite a while to get used to all the little differences

But the really special thing about my new sewing machine is that it isn’t JUST a sewing machine….it does embroidery too, all by itself!

Well, maybe not completely by itself, as I have to program it, thread it, line everything up etc. But you know what I mean

You may have already seen some of this new sewing machine’s work on the Rainbow swallow Onbag (which is about half way down this post) but I have managed a few others which I haven’t yet shown you 😉

My son's favourite one.

And my daughter's favourite ;)

To celebrate finally mastering the new embroidery machine, I have decided to have a little Giveaway!! Yay!!

I will be doing it through the Facebook page. So as not to break any facebook rules, I have used an app labelled “Enter Giveaway” which you can find at the top of my Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Daisy-Chain-Creations/158538234164611

All that you need to do, is to suggest a name for this wonderful little sewing machine 😉

The winner will get an embroidered zone, and can choose a few words of their own to be embroidered onto the reverse 🙂

Amy butler Soul Blossoms Onbag baby

I’m not sure if I have introduced my mannequin to you all before? I have had her for quite a few years, and she has been used to model every baby carrier that I made as Daisy chain slings. Since I started creating Onbags instead of Mei tais, she has had a much easier life, and generally just stands quietly in a corner of my studio watching the world go by 😉

When I first got her, both my children were quite small….and they decided that she simply HAD to have a name. so they discussed it between themselves, with much whispering and the occasional furtive glance my way. In the end, they declared that her name should be Hedgie. Nothing else would do, and Mummy certainly wasn’t allowed to choose a more ladylike name

So, Hedgie she has remained!

Hedgie is modelling the latest Onbag Baby, which is hot from my sewing machine!

It is made of purple cotton drill paired with the delightful Soul Blossoms sari fabric by Amy Butler.

My lovely mannequin "hedgie" is wearing the Onbag across her body.
