Critters Zippy

Many of my June customers have seen my posts about the Zippy, and were keen to be among the firstΒ  to buy one….so I agreed, even though the Large Zippy is still about to go off on it’s travels to lots of testers.

The Zippy has already been tested quite carefully by two lovely Mamas, and they only recommended a few tweaks to the design – so I was confident to go ahead with a few orders anyway – especially since the Mamas were so keen πŸ˜‰

So, this is the first of them! It does have an additional flap – so it looks a little different to other Zippies..

The Zippy is a little firmer than other Onbags, and it stays upright on it's own ;)

Tying Tuesday – a second way rings with an Onbag baby or Classic

Oh dear – if someone was to give me a grade for my ability to blog regularly, it wouldn’t be a very good one

Tying Tuesday came and went last week, and I completely forgot all about it :eek!:

So – many apologies to those of you who were waiting for the alternative way to use slings on your regular Onbag :hangsheadinshame:

Anyway, without further ado, here are the photos πŸ™‚

Thread the rings onto one of the straps.

Now loop the shoulder strap back and thread it through the Onbag loop at the bottom of the bag.

Tie the strap around the Onbag loop. you should only need a single knot here really, not a double one ;)

Now the sling rings are securely attached to the Onbag πŸ™‚

I expect that most of you can do the next bit without me needing to tell you, as it’s just the same way that you thread a ring sling πŸ˜‰ But since I am trying to be thorough, I’ll go through it anyway πŸ˜‰

Take your other strap (the long one that hasn’t been threaded through anything yet πŸ˜‰ )

Now thread it through both rings.

Spot the different Onbag ;)

Finally, loop this strap back through one of the rings. It should look a bit like a climber’s harness πŸ˜‰

The rings lock the strap into place, and hold it there firmly.

Now you are ready to pop your Onbag over your shoulder, and load it up!

Hints and tips:

If you are back carrying, you might want to leave the strap quite long and wear it underneath your carrier. you can tighten it up a little once your baby is secure on your back πŸ™‚

You don’t need to keep the rings in the corsage position if you don’t want to. You can let the bag dangle down if it’s more comfy for you, and the rings just make it easier and quicker to adjust the strap length πŸ˜‰

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

When my children were much younger, we used to love this book!

Connor especially liked to poke his fat, squidy little fingers through the holes in the pages and laugh πŸ™‚Β  So it was a real treat to make an Onbag with the very hungry caterpillar fabric – although looking at all the delicious food on the fabric did make my tummy rumble

The pocket of the Onbag baby is usually rounded, so that it matches the shape of the bag :)
